Dyer Bros Marina Boatyard - History

Dyer Bros Boatyard was established In 1856 and is probably Southampton's oldest boatyard. It is still owned and operated by the Dyer family.

Originally located above Northam Bridge on the River Itchen, the boatyard moved up river to its current site next to Cobden Bridge In 1903, to make way for the rail connection from Southampton to London.

The boatyard's main business was the construction and hiring of rowing skiffs.
After World War 2 a marina started to develop as more people started to own boats.

Today, Dyer Bros offer affordable berthing (both afloat and ashore), boat repairs, lift outs and equipment supplies.
